What you can Expect…

We’ll gather in our family room for our

weekly check-in and teaching, then most

likely break out into smaller areas for conversations in the round.

An Open Letter To Whom It May Discern,

So, you’re reading this because a friend of

yours invited you to what sounds like a book club? Possibly you’re interested but not yet committed to leave your home on a

weeknight. Fair.

Let’s start with an introduction, I’m Ken Leggett; a free-range pastor.

Basically, I’m a 7-wing-8, ENFP who’s lived in Wilco for over a decade with my wife, three

kids, and a dog named Avett. I delight in bourbon and fires, people and community,

food and wine, the great outdoors and

people’s back porches, road trips, and adventure!

I’m fascinated with culture in all its various forms as well as what I’ve experienced to be glimmers of Heaven happening here on

Earth! I live out loud, respect those who don’t, and yet remain intrigued by people’s stories

and journeys. I actually do believe in Jesus

question Western Christianity regularly, and generally offer a winsome and welcoming stance to those who don’t or

won’t.

Most days, I invest my expertise in hospitality, creativity, and biblical wisdom in individuals

and communities so that everyone and everything thrives! I really am a free-range pastor, host, creative, teacher, and friend who lives and moves in and through the

community. Oh yeah, I can’t sit still and like to walk or hike fast!

Enough about me; what do I need to know about you? Honestly, are you looking for a community of people to talk about spiritual ideas centered around one of the most

familiar text from the Bible; Psalm 23? Do you have any interest in taking a short-term risk to step out of isolation and into a community of people seeking to encourage each other in

the right direction? Who are you and who

knows you? WILCO PM’s about creating a

space for possible friendship and at a

minimum thought-provoking convo and possibly a few good-to-bad laughs?

Are you interested in helping make this

happen? Apparently, someone thinks you should!

If you’re open to a convo over coffee, bourbon

or a walk let’s connect. Or just get to it and follow your friend's advice, sign up for WILCO

PM and we’ll get to know one another over seven weeks starting March 18th. We promise; it’s worth it.

Peace, Ken

culture of WILCO PM nor are church or denominational membership required by participants. An entry-level understanding

of the Bible/Christianity is helpful but not necessary. WILCO PM is curated, hosted, and

led by an ordained Pastor with no ambition

to set a bait-and-switch culture. All agendas and ambitions for WILCO PM have been or will be communicated during the course of the seven weeks. (See WILCO PM good faith agreement and Core Values for the Finer Print)

The Lord of Psalm 23: Jesus

Our Shepherd, Companion,

and Host

By David Gibson, Expository Study of Psalm

23 Reveals the Beauty and Deep Theological Meaning behind a Familiar Part of Scripture

Psalm 23 is one of the most recognizable passages in the whole Bible. Though relatively short, this poetic depiction of God’s love epitomizes Christ’s goodness and provision as he leads his children. Even lifelong Christians

will find fresh encouragement by closely studying these familiar words.

David Gibson walks through each verse in

Psalm 23, thoroughly examining its 3

depictions of the believer’s union with Christ

as sheep and shepherd, traveler and companion, and guest and host. Gibson provides canonical context for the Psalm’s beautiful imagery, inspiring praise and

wonder as readers reflect on the loving Shepherd who meets every need.

  • Rich Theology: Adapted from 3

    engaging sermons by David Gibson

  • Expository: Closely examines Psalm 23’s imagery and what it reveals about the relationship between Christ and his followers

  • Uplifting and Informative: Encourages

deep reflection on Christ’s provision, comfort, and eternal strength

  • With a Foreword by Sinclair Ferguson

David Gibson (PhD, University of Aberdeen)

is the minister of Trinity Church in Aberdeen,

Scotland. He is a coeditor of From Heave He Came and Sought Her, and his publications include Living Life Backward: How Ecclesiastes Teaches Us to Live in Light of the

End; Radically Whole: Gospel Healing for the Divided Heart; and The Lord of Psalm 23: Jesus Our Shepherd, Companion, and Host. He is married to Angela, and they have four

children.
