THE LEGGETT'S!

The GRADUATES & NEWLYWEDS

In May, both Ayers and Caleb graduated from Samford University. By July, they were married and settling into newlywed life in their apartment in Vestavia Hills (Birmingham, AL).

Caleb is now working full-time as a “murse” (male nurse) in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Princeton Hospital, while Ayers continues her doctoral studies in Physical Therapy at Samford.

When she’s not studying, Mrs. Ayers LEGGETT Scheffler can be found dog sitting, nannying for little Walt, nurturing a growing love for houseplants, and treasure hunting at garage sales to furnish their new nest. Married life suits them well!

Meanwhile, Caleb is not only balancing shifts at the hospital, but also training for a marathon, rediscovering the joy of three square meals a day, and recently joined Faith Presbyterian, officially becoming a Presbyterian convert.

Let’s Pray for Ayers and Caleb

  • For Caleb’s caseloads in the CICU—that he would be a healing and compassionate presence.

  • For Ayers’ continued endurance and focus in her physical therapy studies.

  • That their home would become a warm, welcoming space for others.

  • For a strong, grace-filled foundation in their first year of marriage.

Give Thanks

  • For Caleb passing his NCLEX, landing a great job, and getting day shifts!

  • For Ayers’ fruitful mission trip to Ecuador.

  • For a strong finish to college, a beautiful wedding, and a joyful start to their life together.

Wedding Pics? OK...

One of our deepest prayers for the wedding was answered—the space between Heaven and Earth felt beautifully thin during those days of celebration, and once again, Jesus turned water into wine.

Jeanette's Global Defense Career...

Mama J's still denying all rumors of being a covert government operative, Jeanette proudly owns her title as a BA Bosswoman in the defense industry. After starting with BlueHalo in 2024, her company was acquired this past May by AeroVironment (AV)—making her second year another steep learning curve (or, as they say in the business world, a “growth opportunity”).

Despite occasional pre-pausal brain fog and spontaneous personal heat waves, she’s crushing it as an Associate Director in the resale division. Working from home, she gives Ken a run for his money on printer ink, Zoom calls, and business travel. After hours, she’s CEO/CFO of Leggett Enterprises—hosting in our home, attending concerts with Keller, walking Avett, or road-tripping south or east to spend time with one of the girls.

This fall, Jeanette also began a first-year certification in Spiritual Direction, participating in a 16-person cohort that meets in our home. The reading is rich, and the practices are helping her stay grounded in both body and soul.

Oh, Wait! Did we mention that she planned an amazing WEDDING!?! Yeah she did!

Let’s Pray for Jeanette

  • For mental clarity and business savvy in her daily work with AV.

  • For focus and fruitfulness in her Spiritual Direction training.

  • For a renewed commitment to her physical health.

  • For grace through the transitions of this age and stage of life—especially good, restful sleep at night.

Give Thanks

  • For Jeanette’s renewed career zeal—even in the high-pressure world of defense.

  • For the relationships she’s building—both professionally and personally.

  • For a season that’s allowing her to invest more intentionally in her health.

  • For daily grace as the nest grows emptier.

  • And for the provision of salary, benefits, and purpose.

ADDIE GRACE:

Ambassador & Bone Collector...

AG kicked off her junior year by temporarily veiling her Phi Mu identity to serve as a Gamma Chi during Rush Week. Her days are filled with forensic science adventures—ranging from cleaning bones at the Body Farm to leading campus tours as a UT Ambassador. Somewhere along the way, she found someone’s missing rib—his name is Clay, and she calls him her boyfriend.

She’s praying for new “heart friends”—kindred spirits who share her kingdom values and know how to have fun. Addie-Grace is also working remotely for The Fork of the South, leading a weekly Bible study through the Psalms, and loving life with her roommates, Anna-Riley and Julie-Ray.

Let’s Pray for Addie Grace

  • For clarity in her career calling and renewed endurance in her current studies.

  • For her weekly Bible study, that it would bear fruit and deepen her Christian community at UT.

  • For more true “heart” friendships to emerge.

  • For freedom from anxiety, headaches, and pressure—both internal and external—and for a deep, rooted peace to guard her heart in Christ Jesus.

Give Thanks

  • For God’s protection through a recent t-bone car accident.

  • For the provision of great roommates and college tuition.

  • For the opportunity to serve as a UT Ambassador.

Keller is diving into his junior year at Franklin High with energy and leadership—serving as Junior Class President and even taking a college-level class at Belmont University on Tuesdays. His days are full: sitting around fires with his closest friends, building and riding on the homecoming float, working at BINKS Outfitters, fishing, hiking, playing barefoot disc golf, writing and producing original music, performing local gigs, and posting daily to his Instagram: @kellerleggett.music.

Last spring, he volunteered for a week in Reynosa Mexico, followed by two weeks of summer service at The Edge Conference. He’s staying rooted through Young Life, a weekly men’s Bible study, and regular worship at Crosspoint Church.

This year, Keller marked a big milestone with the debut of his first EP, “Ms. Tennessee,” released in late summer. You can find his music on most major streaming platforms.

Let’s Pray for Keller

  • That Ken and Mama J finish this season well with Keller as the final bird in the nest.

  • For clarity and discernment around Keller’s future—whether that means college, a gap year, or another path entirely. (Especially pray for Mama J!)

  • For continued growth in Keller’s calling as an artist.

  • For integrity of heart, maturing friendships, and a deepening experience of God’s grace through Jesus Christ.

  • And for a renewed belief in the American education system—at least through college!

Give Thanks

  • For Keller’s passion and talent in music, his thoughtful mind, and his heart for serving in God’s Kingdom.

  • For his meaningful friendships, spiritual engagement, and creative momentum.

and KEN'S FERAL ADVENTURES

Ken's living out his dream calling: pastoring people. To fit into his suit for the wedding, he officially retired from competitive eating and now walks 4–6 miles a day to counteract his genealogical “blessings.” After saying goodbye to his broke-down 4Runner, he’s now driving a pickup truck—a fitting upgrade for a Free Range Pastor.

For mental health, you’ll find him barefoot in the garden, reading by the fire, or belly-laughing with friends over an abundance of nonsense. And for the 4th year in a row, Ken will be Road Managing Andrew Peterson’s Behold the Lamb of God Tour this December—coming soon to a town near you!

Let’s Pray for Ken

  • For pastoral stamina, wisdom, and discernment as he shepherds people.

  • For deeper spiritual attunement, relational strength, and personal integrity.

  • integrity.

  • For continued physical health, energy, and margin for rest.

Give Thanks

  • For a clean bill of health—the aneurysm is still GONE!

  • For the ongoing affirmation and encouragement in his calling as a pastor.

  • For the EPC’s warm reception of his credentials and full-hearted support of the mission.

  • For the souls he’s tending and the community that’s forming around him.
